Lewes Historical Society Maritime Walking Tour

Get to know more about the history of Lewes! The Maritime History tour will be led by a guide from the Lewes Historical Society and will provide information on Lewes’ rich maritime history from its founding by the Dutch in 1631 to the 18th-Century ship building industry, to stories of storms and seamen, up to our present-day Lewes community. This tour demonstrates that “the First Town in the First State” has much to offer to visitors and local alike.
Cost: $10.00 per person
Hours: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Meet up location: 110 Shipcarpenter Street, Lewes DE 19958
Parking: The Main Street in Lewes (Second Street) ends at their campus. Parking is to immediate left of their campus, West Third Street, will need to pass through the campus on the white shell driveway and park on the street along the White fence near the Fish Reel.

What to wear: Comfortable walking shoes for an expected 1.5 mile slow-paced walk.
