Game On, Pain Off: Orthopedic Injury Prevention for Active Lifestyles
September 17 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Free
Staying active is essential for health and wellness, but sports like pickleball, tennis, running, and other recreational activities can put stress on your joints, muscles, and bones. This session, led by an orthopaedic specialist, will cover practical tips to help you prevent common sports-related injuries, improve performance, and maintain long-term mobility. Learn how to warm up effectively, strengthen key muscle groups, protect vulnerable areas, and recognize early warning signs before small aches turn into bigger problems. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a daily athlete, you’ll walk away ready to play strong, stay safe, and keep doing the activities you love—pain free.
About Lucas Allmon:
After retiring from the Army—first, as an enlisted airborne infantry medic, then as a physician assistant—I found a love for orthopedics because it made sense to me. I thought, if you understand what nerve controls which muscle that moves which bone... it becomes easy to understand what's wrong and the treatment becomes clear. This led me to pursue higher education in orthopedics. It is a passion of mine to educate the patient on the pathophysiology of their condition so that the treatment plan makes sense.
