Pirates, Plantations, and Politics – Historical Fiction Author of The Stuck in the Onesies Series, Diana McDonough
June 4 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Free
Diana McDonough is an award-winning novelist and Maryland native and a Florida snowbird.
Diana’s first novel, Stuck in the Onesies, grew out of her experiences living outside the nation’s capital in the Maryland suburbs back in the 1960's and 70's when social issues first bubbled to the surface in the form of marches and riots.
My Mother’s Apprentice is the award-winning sequel to Stuck in the Onesies and based on the true story of the next generation, dealing with the tough issues of abortion and addiction.
Diana published her third award-winning novel, Pirates and Plantations of Jamaica, the story of Ginger Star (historical fiction), in December 2024 which is a prequel of Stuck in the Onesies and has the promise of a sequel. Ginger Star is also a stand-alone work.
Diana helped to initiate the Ecolab E3 women’s advocacy group for Ecolab, a Fortune 500 company. She also founded Woman to Woman Global, a non-profit that helped to scholarship and provide laptops for women, seeking to further their education all over the globe. She’s also a volunteer at a local elementary school and has a heart for special needs children (see her blog, “The Summer of Juan and Pedro” on her website).
You can visit Diana’s website and blog at www.dianamcdonough.com, connect on Facebook, Instagram, and X. Diana’s books are available through Amazon, and anywhere you buy your books. Stuck in the Onesies is available in audiobook format.
Diana enjoys meeting with book clubs and organizations that feature her books whether it be in person or via Zoom. Book clubs from Canada to Florida have featured all three of her books and find them to provide interesting discussion points. Diana welcomes the opportunity to meet with your book club or organization. You can reach out to her at [email protected].
